Letting Go and Letting God!

It is not easy to begin a Christian School. It is not easy to maintain a Christian School. Why?

First - There is nothing dearer to our hearts than our children and we really, truly care about what happens to them. Our ideas about how to educate our children - even as Christians - vary tremendously. Because it is such an emotional undertaking, it is easy to have disagreements, strife and discord even among a closely knit group of people.

Second - It takes a lot of ENERGY to do it and to do it well. As director and lead teacher this past year, I can tell you there are very few minutes in my life that I am not either teaching, leading, guiding or thinking about one of these things. I passionately beg God to help me do it better each day. I know that I, with God's help, can make not only an earthly difference but even an eternal difference in the lives of students and families who are a part of the school.

Third - As Christians we understand that life is not only what we see but that we are part of a spiritual world and we are engaged in real warfare against powers of darkness. Can you imagine how the ENEMY feels when we have the privilege on a daily basis to teach young people not only how to succeed in this world - how to become well educated, motivated men and women - but even more how to relate who they are to God the Creator and Sustainer? No wonder we feel that we are fighting against a powerful enemy. We are!
